Launching Your Startup: Don’t Wait for Perfection
How an early launch can give you the advantage to iterate, grow, and succeed faster.
Hello Innovators,
Welcome to this edition of the GACS Newsletter! Today we are talking about launching your startup because when it comes to launching a startup, many founders fall into the trap of overthinking. We often assume we only have one chance to get it right, and that everything has to be perfect from day one. But in reality, launching is an ongoing process, not a one-time event.
Here at GACS, we encourage startups to get their product out there as soon as possible. Why? Because waiting too long could mean missing valuable feedback, learning opportunities, or even market fit. If you wait six months to launch and it falls flat, you’ve lost time, and you can’t get back. But if you launch early, you can adjust, improve, and try again.
When Should You Launch?
The simple answer: now. Launch as soon as you have something to show. Putting your product in front of real users will show you whether you’re solving the right problem or if anyone cares about your solution at all.
Sure, there’s a risk of launching too early. Your product might feel rough, or you could attract attention before it’s ready for prime time. But that’s okay. You can launch again and again. For example, Airbnb launched three times before gaining real traction. The key is to refine and keep pushing forward.
Crafting Your Pitch
Before launching, you’ll need a clear and concise one-sentence pitch. The best way to communicate what your company does is to lead with the "what" rather than the "why." This makes it easy for others to talk about your product and spread the word.

Types of Launches
Launching isn’t a single moment; it’s a process. Here are a few types of launches to consider:
Silent Launch: Set up a simple landing page with a clear description of your company and a call to action, like joining a waitlist.
Soft Launch: Start getting feedback from early users to refine your product and make improvements.
Official Launch: Once your product has been refined, go big with media coverage or a community-focused event.
What to Look For After Launch
Post-launch, monitor how users interact with your product. Look for:
User Engagement: Are users sticking around? High engagement rates indicate that your product meets a need.
Feedback: What are users saying? Positive feedback is great, but critical feedback is even more valuable—it highlights areas for improvement.
Market Fit: Are you gaining traction in your target market? Analyze data to determine if you’re reaching the right audience and if they see value in your offering.
What to Avoid
As you navigate the launch process, keep these pitfalls in mind:
Overcomplicating Your Product: A complex product can overwhelm users. Aim for simplicity and clarity in both design and messaging.
Ignoring Feedback: Your users are your best source of insights. Don’t dismiss their feedback; instead, use it to make informed decisions for future iterations.
Getting Stuck in Perfectionism: Don't let the quest for perfection hold you back. Remember, launching is just the beginning.
At GACS, we believe in the power of continuous improvement. Launch early, learn quickly, and don’t be afraid to launch again.
Remember, launching is just the beginning. It's all about refining, iterating, and staying flexible to feedback.
